General Info for BICPA Association Membership
Membership
Shall not be less than 21 years of age, and must be a member of one of the following associations of accountants:
✔ The Institute of Chartered Accountants of:
- Australia
- Canada
- England and Wales
- Ireland
- Scotland
- New Zealand
✔ The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants;
✔ CPA Australia; or
✔ Members of any other associations of accountants who, in the opinion of the Council, are in standard in educational qualification and practical experience acceptable to the Council, with such admission to be decided on a case by case basis and on individual merit.
- Affiliate Members consist of persons who have academic qualifications in accounting or business and finance of at least degree standard recognized by BICPA Council.
- Provisional Members who have an accounting qualification and have at least of 3 years relevant work experience are eligible to apply as Affiliate Members.
- Provisional Members consist of persons involved in the accounting profession who do not qualify as Associate or Affiliate Members, which includes the following:
- Persons who have one of the following qualifications in accounting:
- Higher National Certificate (HNC)
- Ordinary National Diploma (ND)
- Higher National Diploma (HND)
- Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or Certified Accounting Technician (CAT)
- Any other academic qualification in accountancy recognised by BICPA Council
Supporting Documents
Application will only be processed if the application form is duly completed and signed, with all supporting documents attached.
✔ Academic qualification: Certificate(s) issued by School: College; Institute; University; or Professional Body.
✔ Professional Qualification: Membership certificate(s) or a letter from the accountancy body/bodies, confirming the date of admission to membership and your membership number.
✔ Testimonials from employers are required for:
– all applicants of Affiliate membership
– all applicants of Associate membership who do not possess one of the recognised qualifications listed in Section A.1 above. The testimonial should state your employment period, job title and a brief description of your duties. It should cover your working experience up to one-month prior to the date of your application.
✔ Copy of Brunei Identity Card (both sides).
✔ Non-original copies of documents must be certified true by a Magistrate or by an Associate Member of BICPA. The name of the certifier should be clearly stated.
✔ A passport-sized photograph in .PDF, PNG or JPG Format.
Fees
The admission fee and annual subscription fee according to the following rates will be collected upon the official approval of the membership application by BICPA Council.
